"Dancing with the Stars" - Seattle Style

Saturday Night Fever in Seattle!

Talk about an all-star event, Seattle Dances! 2011 (modeled after TV’s  “Dancing with the Stars”) brought Seattle-ites together last Saturday night for a great party, and an even better cause, the Plymouth Housing Group. From beginning to end, this event was one for the books. From the red carpet onward, the night was Seattle shinning - ready to dance, laugh, donate big money, and let loose in the fantastic Freemont Studios, Seattle was glammed-up, and looking good.

Having concluded its second year flawlessly, Seattle Dances! has become an event favorite to many in the Seattle scene, this scenester in particular.  Although the dancers this year were spot on spectacular, the raising over of $410,000 for the Plymouth Housing Group was far and above the highlight of the evening.

The event played out as you might imagine it would, very similar to the popular  TV series “Dancing with the Stars.” The obvious difference being that we are in Seattle, and our stars were plucked from the crème de la crème of the Seattle scene - including prominent community and business members.

All sequins aside, this event was Seattle at our best.  Coming together to enjoy our fantastically diverse residents is a favorite Northwest past time. Seattle Dances! 2011 was no exception. In fact, it may just be the rule.

We may hike through the Cascade Mountains by day, but by night – Seattle makes them heels look good!
