Summer Swim, Seafair, and Seward Park

The crown jewel for residents of the Seward Park neighborhood is, of course, Seward Park. Sited on Bailey Peninsula, this waterfront park boasts 300 acres of beautiful flora and fauna, it is home to eagles nests, old growth forest, a 2.4 mile bike and walking path, an amphitheater, a native plant garden, an art studio, miles of hiking trails, and more.

This Southeast Lake Washington locale draws big summer crowds eager for a dip in the warmest bit of the lake and front row seating for Seafair hydroplane races.

For those looking to explore the park without the crowds, try the “First Saturday Walking Tours.” Meeting at 11:00 am outside the Seward Park Environmental and Audubon Center on the 1st Saturday of each month, these free walking tours offer history, geology, ecology, and restoration information on this beloved park.  Lasting about two hours, and covering roughly a mile, this tour is a great way to get outside and learn more about our extraordinary Emerald City.

Happy Seward Park-ing!
